This weekend is the last weekend of rifle season for deer in Mississippi. I've only hunted a couple of days this year and still haven't put any meat in the freezer yet.

I've got three Ruger rifles that haven't been bloodied yet and I want to resolve that issue this weekend.

Here are the choices: (pics below)
M77RSI in 308
No. 1 RSI in 7x57
No. 1-S in 9.3x74R

What say you?

def the 9.3x74r. you're probably the only guy in the state who has one. :D thats cool

then the next weekend you can break out the .35 whelen for our "primitive" ( ) season ...

I live in Mississippi as well, I'd vote for the #1 RSI in 7x57, it is
perfectly suited to our deer and conditions IMHO.

Have you got more than one tag to fill? If so , I would use the 9.3x74 so you could line a couple of them up for one shot and save on ammo!! :p

I am not familiar with the 9.3

very popular large game caliber in europe. very rare around here ... making it cool 8)

404 jeffrey is an elephant round. although i do recall reading an interesting article in gun digest some years back about the writer downloading the 404 w/ cast bullets to shoot groundhogs

(in practical reality i would probably go w/ the .308 rsi or the 7x57, either one ... i just think that 9.3 is neat)

FOR SURE, GO WITH THE 9.3 !! YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU'LL HAPPEN UPON A BUFF OR A LION OR A BIG OL BOAR, SO GO BIG. THAT WHITETAIL BUCK WON'T COMPLAIN A BIT!!
