I'm considering the Burris fast fire 3 & the Vortex Venom but still undecided.
Can users of the above, or any other red dot, sway me one way or another & for what reasons?
Thanks.

Never having used one, I wasn't certain whether I would like a red dot or not, so I bought a cheapo Simmons for my 6-7/8 Mark II. I figured if I didn't like it, I could sell it for a few bucks and not be out too much. That was almost 10 years ago, and that same cheap red dot is still on the pistol.

Granted, it has a soft life - it's only used for target competition - but it works all the time and holds zero. Unless you anticipate needing something really rugged, don't overlook the cheap ones.

I bought a Burris a few years ago,,, and after using it,,, I found it to be excellent. So I've bought 3 more Burris dots.

I have a Bushnell TRS-25 on my MkII 22/45 (factory drilled and tapped as it was one of the last MkII's) attached to the Ruger factory Weaver base. It was reasonably priced and very accurate.

I didn't know they made any thing other than a FFIII for under $250.00.
