Which case lube do you use?

When I was loading .223 by the bucketful, I used Frankford spray lube. Cases in 9x12 pan, generously hose on the lube, shake and rattle a bit, let them sit 5 minutes, and load. Generally worked OK except of grossly oversize cases. Messy to handle. Made a mess in the tumbler requiring frequent changes of media. Now I'm using some of the 'little bit'll do ya' grease with much less mess and much less sizing effort. Another consideration: recently I'm loading in lots under 100 cases rather than 5 gallon buckets full.

Anybody load on a Dillion 550, loading rifle rounds? Where you load several hundred at a time?

I do---I use a cake pan and shake a bunch of 223 brass into it. I give it a good spritz---shake--spritz---shake, give it a few (4-10) minutes for the alcohol to evaporate and start cranking the handle. Depending on solo or tag teaming, I/we will load about 400 rounds per hour---little less if solo---little more if tag teaming. I have used Dillon and Hornady then my own mix---last so long I can't remember the ration---maybe 1:10.

Another fan of Hornady One Shot.

Being the frugal hand loader that I am, I use the cheap Walmart spray cooking oil.
You can use it like one shot, on a lube pad or if you have a lot of cases put the cases in an old cool whip tub spray a shot or two and shake.

Have used Lyman and Hornady both aerosol and pump, all seemed to work okay. Last ten years or more have used a mix of one bottle of red HEET and two ounces of liquid lanolin in a spray bottle. Works just as well as the store bought and is quite a bit cheaper.

I used a bottle of Dillon lube for years until the bottle got brittle and leaked. I never liked One Shot, kept getting random stuck cases. I made some home-brew a couple years ago and it has been great, every bit as good as the Dillon, and I have enough Lanolin left to last the rest of my life.
