Where are they going?

Help Support Ruger Forum:

For all the complaining about the pharmaceutical manufacturers, how many are here because of the drugs they produce? Not just the maintenance type drugs for things like high blood pressure or other heart disease. But, also those used before, during and after life sustaining emergency medical treatment/ surgery.

I'd bet pretty much every one here has at some point needed that sort of treatment.

Oh, and before you gripe about the cost of medications consider this. It takes millions of dollars to bring a single drug onto the market. And during this time many millions more are invested in drugs that don't pass FDA approval (I won't get into that). All this has to be recovered before they make a profit

But, the government give the drug developers a very short time before other drug companies can begin selling "generics".

But if you all feel that the pharmaceutical industry is so bad, just quit using their Maintenance drugs or tell the doctors you don't want antibiotics next time you get an infection. We've got way too many people on this rock, so you'll be helping reduce overpopulation and pollution.

In our 60's my wife and I are not on any pharmaceuticals. We see naturopaths instead of a GPs. Take a look at what BigPharma and .gov did concerning ivermectin during the covid fiasco. No money to be made with ivermectin but lives could have been save.

For heart disease there is beef heart or bison heart. For HBP there are many safe things you can take. Of course diet, no grains or fried foods, and exercise will solve so many issues.

Emergency/surgery is not the same as taking an expensive pill that treats symptoms and has side-effects worse than the condition being treated.

FYI my wife worked in Pharma Research for 23 years before they fired her for refusing the shot.

IMHO, I believe that they are all walking to the local Carvel store where, if it's Wednesday, it's: Buy One Get One Free...

I'm blessed because we have a Carvel only a 1/4 mile away from Burger King.

It is said that for every disease there is a plant on this planet that will heal it.

"Let thy food be thy medicine!"

it's all about better living through chemicals and if you actually think about it the 'war on drugs' this has to be one of the stupidest things we ever came up with. I finally looked at it from the 'cartel's' view. They would not be smuggling all these illegal drugs in if WE were not buying them!

It kind of goes to my main point... why are there even commercials advertising these prescription drugs? My doctor is the one supposedly educated and with the knowledge of what I should be taking not me... I don't have a clue. And just because some actor on TV who fits my profile is supposedly living a better life because they are taking a certain medication I should do the same? I think the aliens watching us are getting the best entertainment in the universe.

Carvel! That brings back memories....when young lived on Long Island for a couple years.....that was a huge treat for us kids when we went to Carvel for soft ice cream cones. First I ever remember having soft ice cream. We would get ice cream cakes and clown cones from there also. Haven't seen a Carvel since 1972. I think they are mostly a New York thing.

What is Carvel? Is it a yankee thing? I heard reference once in a Beastie Boys song from the early '80's. They were from Brooklyn.

Guess I can google it.

Carvel is definitely a "Yankee" thing:

I'm drooling from the memory. Been quite some time since I've had a Carvel cone, not as many stores. But it was always Carvel over Dairy Queen.

When I traveled on business, I used to scour the landscape on final approach for McDonalds and Carvel.
If none, would call for a "go 'round".... ;)

there might be two here in S.C. but I've never seen or heard of one... they are probably down in Myrtle Beach or such (which I really don't consider part of S.C.). on and speaking of not knowing.... what is the wegovy thing.... ? I don't think I've seen the commercial

Yeah ... the only non-yankee States are Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, Nevada, SC, and Tennessee ... and I guess California. Puerto Rico doesn't count.

Perhaps you missed it but Maryland is definitely NOT a YANKEE state. Mason-Dixon line separates us from them

Well I lived in Maryland from 5th grade through freshman year of college and off to boot camp. Didn't come back for 14yrs. Moved back to VA, and then back to MD only to move out again to PA. I have never considered Maryland as the South. I know what history books say.....but looking at a map saying Maryland is in the south is plain goofy. However, the TRUE southern states don't know what the heck they are doing with crabs.......Maryland does crabs right!
