These .44's are currently in heated contest for the top spot.

The 1st handgun I ever bought, a '75 Super Single Six. Well worn but not abused. For all the memories I have in this gun, I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Dude........

You're KILLING me!

My Google-Fu is WEAK tonight!

I cannot find ANY unfluted SBH in or around a 5.5" length!

What model number is that?!?!?

It looks EXACTLY like a KS45N......'cept the KS45N was FLUTED.......and that doesn't match yours.

I totally won't sleep tonight!

My first (and only at this point) Ruger revolver. A completely stock .357 50th Anniversary Blackhawk. I love it!

Probably the oldest firearm I've ever owned, my 1960 Old Model Super Blackhawk, unconverted.

Sorry for coming back so late,....
The story behind this one was a lucky one for me! I purchaced it from a fellow some time ago that bought it new & he didn't like the unfluted cylinder. He contacted the warranty service centre here in canada to have the cylinder changed, so ruger sent a new fluted one to the centre & he was supposed to send the gun in to have it changed. In the mean time he contacted me to see if I might be interested? :D

He never did send this gun in to have the fluted cylinder fitted, but he did include it with the gun. It would be interesting to know how many came out of the factory like this,
this is why it is my favorite Ruger..... :)
The model # is the same as the 5-1/2" fluted cylinder gun!

Oh by the way the grips are micarta from www.clccustomgrips.com

Probably my favorite because it was my first Ruger in the 50's:

But the 45 Colts get the most shooting and would be #1

A Tale of Two .44s:

My current favorite Ruger:
IMG_1216_lightened_small.jpg

Lipsey's .44 Special with Honduran rosewood extended grip panels from 41 magnum. FWIW, the discoloration just ahead of the cylinder is a trick of the light and/or post processing on the photo (it was too dark and I futzed around with the exposure on the JPEG).

Here's a better pic, but with the original grips:

Another favorite:

Super Blackhawk Bisley Hunter in .44 Mag.

I need to take a group/family photo with my other Rugers. They're favorites, too. ;)
