I'm well acquainted with the original finish Ruger used on the Super Redhawk .454 and .480. When the company came out with the Alaskan, it reverted to the straight stainless finish, which I like a lot better. Do all the latest Super Redhawks, Alaskan or otherwise, have the same stainless finish now? thx Jim

No. Only the Alaskans are stainless finish. The regular SRH's are target gray.

The 2010 catalog shows the 454 now has a brushed stainless finish. Looks like the target grey is no longer for the 454 super redhawk.
Alaskans remain the same stainless finish as always.

All current production SRH are regular stainless finish, regardless of caliber or bbl length. Target Grey is no longer on revolvers.

This must have changed in the last two months. I bought two SRH's, and both were target gray.
