How about "In Heaven There is No Beer " by Eddie Blazonczyk and Frankie Yankovic! Songs like that drove the inmates crazy when the Watch Commander would play the Polkas over the loudspeaker
For some crazy reason my sister and I had that on 45 in our record collection. I remember singing it when she was about 7 and I was 4. We also liked Ringo Star’s No No song.

When I was young and going to the Honky Tonks on Friday & Saturday Nite. Any song that Hank Williams wrote would suit me just fine. But if I was honest I guess I would have to say ((( I`am So Lonesome I Could Cry ))), was very special to me. And if You couldn`t get right on the dance floor with some good looking tight fitting 501 Levis wearing Honky Tonk Angle. Well You just weren`t trying hard enough. I sure miss those days, I surely do.

I listened to a lot of music, but really can't remember a favorite when I was young. First album was 3 Dog Night Naturally, and the second Deep Purple Machine Head.

Thought of another one…Ride of the Valkyries - Elmer Fudd version (Kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit…)

But this song has a story. My wife was pregnant and Bugs was on the tube. This cartoon was on and I sang KILL THE WABBIT!! at the top of my voice to her belly. She went shopping that day and came home with some cloth to make blankets for the baby. There it was, the goofiest looking rabbits with their eyes X'd out. They weren't really x'd out but the poor design made them look that way. We both love that blanket. As a bonus my daughter loves that cartoon too. But her favorite line is Ohhhhh Bwoon Hilda you're so lovely!

And songs popular when Nita and I were courtin':

"Make The World Go Away" by Eddy Arnold.
"For the Good Times" by Ray Price.

Bob Wright
I remember traveling the west on vacation with my dad playing an 8-track of "For the Good Times". I love to hear Ray sing, he is missed.

The theme from The Dukes of Hazzard...but I was younger than 14. At 14 it was probably something by a hippie or group of hippies. Now I am full circle back to Waylon. Marty Robbins only wishes he was country...
