Can someone tell me what type of box do I need for a ruger black powder pistol ? Its a stainless steel 7-1/2 Bbl Adj. sights S.N. 145-20497 built 1980 or 1981 I think.

Thanks Steve

It would be cardboard during that timeframe, I think either red with white eagle or the yellow with black eagle. One piece with flap lid. Plastic came onto the scene mid/late 90's if I recall correctly for most revolvers.

I do believe in the early 80's it would have been the cardboard, one piece, yellow & black ones. Model info should be KBP-7.

my bet would be with that serial number it came in the red/white one piece fold up box with the copyright dated on the inside lid of (1973) when the New Models came out , and in use till the 1982 Mark II then used the yellow/black end one piece boxes.........never know as the Old Army was a slow seller, so really need to know just when it was shipped ????
