What is your favorite non Ruger firearm?

Help Support Ruger Forum:

These 3 are pretty good non Ruger revolvers. 1973 vintage Colt Detective Special, 1956 Smith and Wesson Chief's Special flat latch with a Tyler T-Grip and a 2017 vintage Model 638-3 with Altamont diamond grips and a Tyler T-Grip. All in .38 Special. Carried in a Simply Rugged holster you are all set.

I already posted my favorite rifle, for a handgun, I have to go with either of my 2 Makarovs in .380

(the pattern on the slide is a combination of oil and the pattern on the magnet I used to put them in my gun "flag")

Guess my Remington TB 1100 I use for Trap. Beautiful wood and gloss finish. Cost me around $325 new back in 80.

I am not good at picking favorites. Of what I own it would be.
Rifle-Winchester model 70 push feed, Ranger (yep, the horrible push feed & the cheapest version available) .30-06
Semi-Auto Pistol-M&P 2.0 40 Compact 4"
Revolver-Dan Wesson model 15-2 (easy pick, only revolver I own)

I'm a big fan of the Nomad, silky smooth like a Swiss watch and zero failures

second year '63 and '71, note difference in front site and barrel address

Princess Bee also a fan, seen here at 7yo, first solo handgun shoot. utoob forced video down for child endangerment 🤨
I love looking at the Browning Nomads. I bought a new one in 1972. It's one of many that I let slip away from me.

I'll help you out with an xd9 picture, and a fun sea story about mine

2003 I went to a local gun shop to look at a trp operator on sale and grumpy was showing me the new xd they had

shootin the bull with grumpy and Mike I overheard two fellas down the counter mention the impending .50bmg ban, I wasn't aware

I told grumpy I'll pass on the trp and try the plastic xd, save the difference for a .50bmg while I still can. they all chuckled. three months later just days before Jan 1 2004 ban, I received my m82a1 😬

turned out to be a handy little utility gun for $350ish. carried it some, broke in some new shooters with it, loaned it to a .mil friend while he was living on a boat in the harbor, etc. never an issue or failure with cheap ball or duty ammo

liked it so much I bought it's little big brother xds 45, used from an officer for $500 with robar, holser, mags, and case. it's a handful with +p hydrashoks but packs a lot of stopping power in very small package

so you may wondering, did he ever get the trp operator?? well, sort of. I later scratched that itch with a custom pro. 17mos delivery time back then. Mike actually apologized when he had to charge me the the tax increase from previous year 🤨

well worth it! where else can you get a hard fit custom tack driver with that pedigree for $2500.
