What is this California 'warning"

Help Support Ruger Forum:

Prop 65 was past with the idea to inform people of products that had cancer causing material in them .
Unfortunately retailers and manufactures have had to put it on almost everything because if they don't and miss something they can be in legal and civil trouble .
And there are numerous people just waiting to bring law suits against any company for the big pay day.
It has made prop 65 mute. You see the signs going into grocery stores and restraunts

Your jest aside, there are many parts of California that are quite nice to live in AND contain Republicans and conservatives. The northern counties, aka Bigfoot Country, and east of the Sierra Nevada in the desert.

I used to spend winters working in a ski area in northern California, Donner Ski Ranch, so I can agree that the people who live in the mountains are different than the people living along the sea shore. The people who visit the mountains to ski, however, are mostly idiots.

But you still have to live under Sacramento. So the north is for Big Foots and the South must be for big heads. . This might change after the fires though.

Well, besides myself, I'm gonna guess that several others here have handled un-coated LEAD bullet heads without gloves (which probably cause cancer themselves). After 60 years of doing this, I just started wearing nitrile (?) gloves when reloading. Besides, since I don't read very well, I can honestly say that I have NEVER read a warning on any product in my lifetime; in fact, up until I married my lovely wife, I never even checked an expiration date on anything.... When she moved into my house, she threw away almost all my canned goods.
So far, so good...!!!

J.
I wondered if you checked the expiration date of the marriage licsense

Coincidentally, I just looked at a GunBroker ad and saw this at the bottom:

I think what they are saying is that for more information, go to that website. They should probably reiterate that for clarity.

As a former Commiefornian, the way it was explained to me when I still lived there was that there are so many things on the list that require the warning to be put on a product that, rather than have their products analyzed to see if any detectable amounts of any of the "bad" things are there it's easier, and cheaper, just to put the warning label on EVERYTHING and be done with it. This has the effect of rendering this law, in effect, moot as the warning labels have become a joke and nobody pays any attention to them anymore. Kind of like the old Aesop fabel, "The Boy Who Cried Wolf".

Yeah, physically, geographically, and weather-wise, it's a beautiful place. Unfortunately, it is ruled by gov. Newscum, his left-lib democrat legislature, and LA, San Francisco, and Sacramento who spread their crazy throughout the entire state. Just those three cities, along with a few other selected areas, can usually outvote the rest of the state and they are completely filled with fruits and nuts.

Been many years since Cali had a decent Governor.

A couple years ago GM added a step to the PDI process on new cars. The very first item on the special actions list at the bottom of the regular check list is to make sure all California dealers install the separate warning label for all the diseases only Californians can get from a new car.
