What is for breakfast?

Help Support Ruger Forum:

Long time Type 2 here. My coffee with creamer puts me into the 240 glucose range. I once asked my nutritionist what morning cereal was best for a diabetic. She said none...eat oatmeal or eggs. So I drink my coffee at 9:30am then cold cereal (non-sugar coated) with Soy milk at 11am.
A low carb snack at 2pm then dinner at 6pm.

I asked for Ozempic but my doc said that he would rather change my meds. So he took me from 5mg of Glipizide per day to 15mg. Along with 1000mg of Metformin twice a day (as always). But the increase in Glipizide resulted in several severe low glucose crashes per day (that stuff is powerfull). So I am trying 7.5mg. Even at that low dosage the Glipizde can still cause low glucose so I wear a Libre Sensor to keep an eye on it.
I want to explore Ozempic but doc says that I would not like the side effects.

I usually have 5 egg scrambled eggs with ham or sausage on the side or sometimes mixed in with the eggs. Normally I have a slice of Health Nut toast with butter but I've been on a low carb diet this year. I usually have either a cup of black coffee or glass of iced tea with it.

BUT, I've been known to have leftover dinner of whatever kind for breakfast but not too often. No pictures as I'm too busy eating for breakfast! LOL!

Impressive breakfast spread there Mr. Wright!

My normal breakfast is two pieces of toast with peanut butter and jelly and a Pepsi. On occasion I will have a bowl of oatmeal and a Pepsi. This morning we are going to stop in at a local hole in the wall diner. I normally get 2 eggs over easy, bacon, toast and hash browns with sausage gravy over the hash brown. Oh yeah, and a Pepsi too. I don't have this very often but it sure s good.

Not every day but quite often! Smothered breakfast burrito …. Either Hatch green chile or Chimayo Red. Eggs, potatoes cheddar and either sausage, bacon or ham wrapped in a tortilla then smothered with chile and a little more cheeses …. popped in the oven for a few ….. The Best!!

I'm having the other half of yesterday's Southern omelette and hash browns, reheated, and coffee. Maybe I'll have some of that cantaloupe that's finally ripe. (Had a devil of a time spelling omelette and cantaloupe).:rolleyes: I don't think I've ever spelled them before.

Where is it written that you have to have eggs, bacon, sausage, has browns, etc. for breakfast. I don't have heavy breakfasts unless I'm at the hunting camp where I can burn it off walking the woods. This morning I had a half of chicken salad sandwich left over from yesterday. It was very good and just enough. What are your thoughts?
The best breakfast is nothing at all or a glass of water. For those that must eat breakfast, just eggs, bacon, butter, and nothing else. All you want is a little protein and a lot of fat.
Those early morning carbs and coffee will take a toll on your health over the years, and on your energy levels as the day progresses.

Half a chicken salad sandwich? I don't think so.

4 or 5 strips of bacon, 4 eggs, cup of tea, bottle of water, can of diet Pepsi while I watch about 3 hours of news in 30 minutes. Then check the internet for half an hour and finish my tea. Exact same thing cooked exactly the same way, every single day.

Then I'm ready to get started.

We usually alternate between cold or hot cereal one day. Other days I usually have one egg, saugage or bacon, and a muffin. Make into a 'McMuffin' sandwich. No coffee for me, still not old enough to drink the stuff.... Just a glass of juice or milk.

KETO is not as healthy as you think.

Best Wishes

Weekdays my morning might include a granola bar or the like.

But when I want to really put on the dog, & skip lunch, I have this for brunch. My weight along the meals bad numbers health wise, has me enjoying it just occasionally. A top 5 meal for me,,, period. The gravy BTW is for sure out of a cast iron skillet that the sausage was fried in.

Nice! Where's the biscuits?

Holy cow, no wonder all you guys are fat. Just kidding. I always have about 1/2 cup of rice Krispies with 1/2 cup of cheerios, no sugar, and very little milk, a cup of black coffee. Then I go for a 40-minute bike ride around the neighborhood. Then on to the Ruger forum.

I'm one of those guys who can eat the same thing everyday and be happy. My breakfast is a toasted english muffin with butter and jelly, a small banana, and a cup of diced peaches with coffee.

My Grandson was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes right after his 21st birthday. He manages it well and stays very thin.

My son is 50, was a football player and had become quite heavy and had developed type 2 diabetes. He is one who has suffered from what's known as "long covid". His doctor advised him to seek another opinion and so he went to a woman doctor that his wife and daughters go to. She told him she was gonna put him on Mounjaro. She did, and within 2 months he has lost 65 lbs and has energy that he has not had in years. She had told him that he could easily lose 100 lbs in a year, and he is well on his way to exceed that. This has been like a miracle for him, a new lease on life.
