What firearm to do regret purchasing?

Help Support Ruger Forum:

years ago I bought a Marlin 17 hmr, thinking that it would be "satisfactory"……
The accuracy was "Waterhose-terrible"
The two magazines could NEVER deliver 10 consecutive rounds to the chamber without 2 or 3 failures
I gave the gun to my brother-in-law, and apologized profusely.

Mine was a first generation mp 40 the snappiest gun ever should of got a nine in that gun anyway got rid it and one I still have and not given up on it yet lcp2 22 lr ruger that thing hardly get thru a mag without the slide returning anyway I always have hope for it I like mouse guns

Okay, admit it. We've all bought a firearm that we later wished we hadn't.

For me, it's the Sig Sauer .22LR Scorpion. It consistently fails to feed and the type of ammunition has no effect on functioning.

So, might the Assembled Multitude have suffered similar situations? Interested in your experiences.

You can't have too much ammunition, too many books, or too much red wine.
Baretta 21A Bobcat. I hated that gun

Back in 2015, I decided that I needed to join the modern world and own a polymer pistol. I settled on the S&W M&P .40. Why this particular handgun? I have always thought that polymer pistols were ugly, still do but I reasoned that the S&W was the least ugly. The .40 part was because 9mm was a bit scarce at the time and 40 cal seemed to be everywhere. I used it to qualify for my CCW, I put maybe 100 rds through it and then discovered that it was not for me. Trigger was horrible, but it did shoot straight. It was a big , ugly pistol. It went into the rear of the safe. I recently traded it and a few more dollars for a S&W model 36.

My Dad was not a 'gun' guy. But when He passed, I got what He had. He bought Me 3 that I still have. I have a Beretta 390 that is rough but has made a great Turkey gun last 30 yrs. I have Rem 700 Mtn rifle SS in 30-06 that has been a great deer rifle. Hav lots if stuff now but I just like them. Not overly attached. Hav Sako P94 that I will never sell. Rest are just guns

I just parted with a revolver that I thought I would hang on to forever, a S&W 642. Even with the lightest load the recoil was killing my arthritic hands, and even firing just 5 rounds had my hand aching for the rest of that day. So the 642 is gone. I can handle the recoil of 9mm, even in a lightweight compact semi auto, but I just bought a micro 22LR semi to use as a pocket carry. Yes, I know that 22LR is not considered by most as a decent self defense round, but I think it will do just fine for me.

Fulton Armory M14. Spent 9 months waiting on it , was a total turd and sent it down the road. A fitting end to the rifle that lost Vietnam ;)

AMT Back-up, as a friend told me after we tried to shoot a full magazine through and failed repeatedly, "you're better off throwing rocks!" Also, my first 1911 (when i was young and poor), I purchased an Auto-Ordnance 1911A1….what a dog, but i was able to trade it in towards a Series 70 Colt and got what i paid in trade so that wasn't so bad in the end.

MY BIGGEST REGRET is selling my 25TH Anniversary 44 Carbine along with my 44 International and #3, also in 44 mag to a guy who wanted to buy all three and he caught me on a day when I was in need of some cash for a down payment on my house….(The #3 left Ruger as a barreled action, I found out later)

Shoot me with a 22LR, and if I ain't dead, you won't see me 'round here no more!!!

I don't regret buying any of mine but I do have one that I would like to sell and recoup at least most of what I paid for it. Sadly, it is a Ruger. It's my Ruger LCP. It's a great little gun, but needs a new recoil spring. The only reason that I would like to sell it rather than just replace the recoil spring is that I upgraded to the LCP max and no longer carry the LCP.
