What exactly is this and is it rare?

Welcome from Arizona, it is a Ruger Bisley model and they all have the cylinders rollmarked that way stainless or blued, condition of the gun new unfixed or used and if you have the box plus your area have an influence on the price, I bought a blued 7 1/2" .357 magnum earlier this year and paid $700

Maybe worth a little bit more than a regular New Model Blackhawk because of the Bisley style and being a stainless version.
It's a good shooter - accurate and fun.

Someone at the range offered me 900. I might let it go because I would really like to get a 357 as I already have one revolver and a rifle in that caliber?
$900 is probably a fair price. I wouldn't sell mine for that because they are just SO ACCURATE and, I've found that I can shoot Bisley model grip frames much better than the traditional plow handle frame. AND, I am a fan of the 45 caliber (45Colt). p.s. IIRC, mine were Williams Shooting Sports (now out of business) distributor special runs (45Colt; 41Mag; 44Spl.).

I agree with Johnnu2. I don't sell, as I HATE "seller remorse." And mine is also accurate.
Yes, It's an Accusport bisley. The first of special non-cataloged ones at the time. About 900 made. ~2001-2002. The next year about 900 44 mags were sold, then either 357 or 41. All becoming pretty scarce afterward until 2010-2011 a company called Williams commissioned Ruger to build more 45's & 45 convertibles. These were identical with the exception of the warning label roll mark was on the underside of the barrel. Enough of these sold to pretty much end any high end collector value of the 45 Accusport.
But that aside, just great guns. Gun magazine writer John Taffin claims to have coined the term PPP, or perfect packing pistol, but added another P to this one for Powerful. Usually plenty of them on Gunbroker most times.

Bought this one new several years ago, had to be sent back because of offset front sight base. Warning is on bottom of barrel.

I've seen offset bases before but never a sight blade that is not centered in the base!

The serial number on mine is 48-403xx.
I bought it new in 2010, but would love to know when it was made.
It has scratch marks near the serial number and had a divot in the ejector shroud (I replaced this at my own expense). It seemed to me a poor worker had done this at the factory. At least it shoots very well.

The 48-403XX was shipped in 2009.
FWIW; the start of 300 range guns were 45/45ACP then just 45Colt, then some 41M's then back to 45C.

The factory grips on my 357 are fine for heavy loads. A long while back CaryC made me an oversized set for my 44 mag. They fit my hand perfectly. I use it for my 320 grain hard cast lead max charges. MUCH easier on my old hands than my Redhawk. I am using up my heavy bullets and scaling everything back. I do have about 1k of the 185 hard cast lead that work well out of my Redhawk. A very accurate plinking load.
Well once I get 10 posts under me I will put it in the classifieds for 750. But how do you handle transaction? Shipping payment ect? Thank you for the help.
