Wolf song had a great thread on moving the guns out we no longer NEED at our age. No doubt I have more than I want than what I need. The question is how many do we need of various calibers? Let’s hear your opinion on this mind boggling question. It might help someone. Not asking anyone to expose how many they have. Probably not a good idea, but…

300 Savage.
I was fortunate to have stocked up a large supply of 300 Savage ammo and components before things went insane.
Current price check on 300 Savage is 89.00 or more per box.

Let your kids sort it out!!!
No! Please, sell your guns before you get too old! I remember being a teenager in the 1980s and going to gun shows and seeing all the cool foreign rifles that you just can’t find today (HK91s, Galils, AUG A1s, etc.). Where are they? They’re all in safes and by the time your kids go to sell them, the people who really wanted them will be too old to really enjoy them. Or, one of your liberal kids will throw them in a dumpster to get them off the street. My aunt did that to my grandfather’s guns, which included several war trophies and English doubles.

We moved and I lost my area to reload. I'm down to .22lr, 9mm, 556/223, and occasionally .380 for an LCP Custom. I can buy the .22lr, 9mm and 556/223 relatively cheaply considering these times. I sold my .38 and .357 revolvers when I could no longer reload

Change .300 to .308 and add .223.

If I had to I could get rid of all my guns except for one to carry and then have available for home defense, like my Glock 26. I've often thought about what guns I would "forget" that I had if the private ownership of firearms was outlawed and I suspect that it would be more than one when it came time to turn the guns in.

I only had a couple shotguns to begin with. And more than a few years ago, I sold the last one. And yes, I regret selling it. A 16 gauge side by side.

I do like skeet shooting, but it’s expensive and not that common around where I live.

Otherwise I’m not getting rid of anything anytime soon

I have firearms that I haven't shot for over a Decade. Some are Heirlooms some are purpose built and I haven't been able to work that purpose in lately. If needed they are ready for action if needed.
