I've been a Single Six fan for 50 years. My favorite Christmas present was the Single Six my folks got me in 1968 when I was 16. Today I shoot a trio of Stainless Single Sixes. a pair of #0625 5 1/2" Convertibles and a recently acquired #0678, a 4 5/8" Fixed Sight Convertible Lipsey's Special.

A local shop just bought a New Model Single Six Collection and I was looking toward adding to my trio. These are all NIB and priced from $450 to $600. I'd like to add a couple of these to my assortment and would like to pick up the rarer of this group.

They have:

4 Bisleys:
6 1/2" Blue, Unfluted, Windage Only Adj. Sight / 6 1/2" Blue, Fluted, Windage Only Adj. Sight / 6 1/2" Blue, Unfluted, Adj. Sight / 4 5/8" Stainless, Unfluted, Trough Sight

4 Bright Stainless Convertibles:
5 1/2" Adj. Sight / 5 1/2" Trough Sight / 6 1/2" Adj. Sight / 6 1/2" Trough Sight

2 Blue Convertibles:
4 5/8" Windage Only Adj. Sight / 6 1/2" Windage Only Adj. Sight

2 Blue Convertibles (I need to bring a magnet with me on these two to check for a Steel Grip Frame) They Both have Walnut (?) Grips:
5 1/2" Trough Sight / 6 1/2" Trough Sight

Thanks for your input.

Among the rarest of the NM SS are the Star guns. The blue and stainless 4 1/2" models are quite rare, especially the blued model. Also made with 51/2", 6 1/2", and the 9". The blued models are quite a bit scarcer than the stainless guns.
A Star model is one actually shipped with one single cylinder. I guess you would call it an economy model.
They only made 900 stainless KN 4's, and less of the blued types.
I think these were offered around 1974 and didn't last long as they are all quite scarce. Big Larry

Out of those you listed, I would pick up a couple that YOU like or maybe call out to you so to speak.
Out of the list my take would be the 4 5/8" stainless Bisley and the 6 1/2" fluted blue Bisley as I think those two are both sharp looking and not many made.

The two blue convertibles with windage rear sight are also good. There are only 500 of each of those (these are NR4F and NR6F...there is also an NR5F that had 500 made)
The first bisley you listed, unfluted with windage rear sight is probably rarer than those even (that is RB-22W)
The stainless Bisley with trough sight isn't really that rare, but they've been bringing pretty good $ on the internet auctions...(KRB-24FW)
