9mm PX4 Compact loaded with Critical Defense. Has a BALDR Mini mounted, but my alarm system will turn on all the lights in the house except the bathrooms and closets, so it really isn't necessary.

No personal connection with Audie Murphy. I read an interview with his widow who was telling about his PTSD. She said that he slept with those weapons and had night terrors. She worked for the VA until she was 87 and died at 90 years of age.
Damn, guessed I'm still jet lagged from recent trip. I mistook It for I. D'oh
Apologize for my error.
I recall hearing that or reading it some years back also

Bedroom gun...

One rainy night a young woman, totally drenched, came to my door seeking shelter. Being a good host, I offered her one of my spare bedrooms. In that bedroom is a Queen bed with two mattresses and that's where I let her sleep. Between the two mattresses was a Ruger LCP .380 with three extra magazines.

The next morning, she thanked me for letting her have a place to sleep, but apologetically said that it wasn't too restful because something made the mattress uncomfortable. So I married her.

Model 12 Winchester in 12 gauge (short barrel but legal length) along with Glock 19X pistol close by my bed.
One has to be very, very sure that shooting an intruder, criminal, etc. for keep in mind that every bullet, shot charge that goes down the barrel has a lawyer attached to it. There will be an investigation on anyone that you may shoot and do not discuss anything that took place with law enforcement until you have arranged for a lawyer to defend your action taken. Just a suggestion.

You asked about the "bedroom"=G19. For EDC it is the G42 or G26. I live in the Tampa Bay Area. We have no "winter". My Florida costume is tee shirt/polo shirt, shorts and sandals. The G19 is too large for me to conceal most of the time. The G42 is great for pocket carry in cargo shorts.
