Weird Single Six Convertible Problem

I just picked up a Single Six stainless today, and I noticed a weird problem. When I tilt the gun onto its right side and try to cock the hammer, it binds and no reasonable amount of force will make it continue. 80% of the time, I can just release the hammer and try to cock it a second time with no further issue. The other 20% of the time, repeated hammer pulls also bind, and I have to tilt the gun off its right side for the issue to resolve itself. This happens with or without the cylinder in, and happens in no other orientation.

I noticed that the distance that the hammer and pawl can travel before stopping when this problem happens is the same distance that they can travel before stopping when the loading gate is open. Maybe something related to the loading gate is loose or out of spec? I haven't taken the gun down beyond removing the cylinder yet.

I'd appreciate any thoughts on this.

The only time I've had issues with the orientation of the revolver preventing me from cocking it, the base pin wasn't fully seated and allowed the transfer bar to interfere and bind the action. If that's the issue it is a 30 second fix.

Just wanted to give an update on this.

At first, Ruger sent a new base pin to try to fix the problem, even after I told them that the problem still existed whether or not the cylinder and/or base pin were in the gun.

After that didn't help, I sent the gun back to Ruger. Ruger's form said that they worked on the transfer bar. Now the gun functions fine.
