was wondering what the value of my Ruger 10/22 serial # 24856 made in 1966. It is new never been fired in the original box and have all the paper work that came with it. Thanks stumpy

Your gun was probably built in 1965. Rugers date of production figures on the 10/22 are not correct. I see that Ruger's figures are also the same as that printed in Ruger & His Guns by R.L. Wilson.
Here's what I have.
1964.....1 to 15267
and 89000 to 90146 (these were actually numbered in error at this time...somebody thought they were serial numbering .44 Carbine receivers.
1965.....15268 to 56893
1966.....56894 to 88999
and 90147 to 99736
As a side check, Ruger shipped 15935 10/22's in 1964, 40493 units in 1965 and 44120 units in 1966.
If still in doubt though, give the factory a call and they will let you know the month and year it left.
