All,

I could use your help assigning a value to a rifle.

I have a non-prefix S26M (aka 1B) in .22-250. I think this is the most common of the non-prefix rifles. Serial number is 27XX, condition is ~99%, and the wood is good but not great. It is currently wearing a Weaver 10x scope from that period.

A couple of people are interested in purchasing the gun from me. I just want to make sure I value it correctly. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

SR

It sounds like the twin to the one I bought about 2 years ago mine had a weaver T 10 super wood but the wood was a little feathered on one side 4 digit serial # I paid $800 and thought I got a real good deal if yours has a T 10 they bring $300 + by themselves

Gramps, There's a value difference between the Weaver T-10 of the late '70s and a Weaver 10x of the '60s. If the rifle has the T-10 on it I agree with your valuation. If it has the older 10X then the value of the scope only adds $100 in my opinion.

In either case it is a fine rifle with a factory Douglas Premium barrel on it and should be very accurate.
