How long does it usually take for a handgun to arrive from the shipper? I'm waiting for one that's been in the mail for six days already and it's arrived at a in-state post office but not at its destination PO. I thought most handguns were supposed to be on a three day delivery.
Maybe I'm just too impatient

All I can say is be patient, for some reason they're incredibly slow more... so the last few months than ever.

I had one shipped from Greenville TN to here, Greenville, S.C. priority mail and it got here the next day and then went up North and travelled back and forth in Phillidelpea for three days before coming back here.
The real worst example is last year I ordered some parts from a guy in New York... he mailed them on Oct 16th and after two searches with the post office they arrived on Nov. 27th.
the package was not lost... it spent over a month going back and forth between two postal stations.... you would think that even if a person did not notice this then the highly intelligent computer system would have.

Depends on what type of service was chosen by the shipper. I'm not trying to make excuses for USPS--BUT there seems to be a lot of uncertainties involved in shipping by ANY source lately.
One of the big factors in seemingly endless 'loops' of here to there and back to somewhere else is due to the almost universal OCR (optical character reader) used to read and sort packages.
Any sort of smudge, over write, or wrinkle in a shipping label may cause all sorts of confusion of the system resulting in the multi-day looping of a package.

Not guaranteed:

In most cases, the expected delivery date printed on your receipt or provided at checkout will reflect a delivery time of 1, 2, or 3 business days and is based on origin, destination, and drop-off time. The expected delivery date does not come with a money-back guarantee.

I bought a gun recently on S&W forum. It was coming from Florida to Alabama, not a long hop. The seller paid $69 for USPS delivery and it took a full 6 business days to get here. By contrast, I sold three guns the previous week and didn't pay that much for any of the three, and got 2nd day delivery - one went all the way to Oregon, another to west Texas.
I'm always nervous about the shipping whether buying or selling. I don't trust any of the carriers more than another - I've had problems with all of them - USPS, UPS, and FedEx. UPS literally destroyed (as in broke it in half) a fine Belgium Browning Safari .30-06 I bought on Gunbroker a couple of years ago.

My mom's birthday is in July. We mailed two postcards from London. She still hasn't gotten them delivered to Phoenix.

But I'm not convinced it's the English. Because a friend of her's in Missouri mailed a card in July 3rd. They just got it two days ago.

Several times mail from Dallas to their house in Phoenix has been delayed for several weeks up to a month. At least 3 times I know about. Perhaps 4.

I'm worried about another one. Ordered from Midway on Monday late night and they acknowledged it the following morning and had it listed as shipped by that afternoon. It's still out there somewhere USPS. The package originally showed it was shipped UPS but then somewhere along the line, they handed it over to the post office, so now I'm not scheduled to get it until Friday if it comes through at all

A friend of mine got a PT job at the local Post Office. He started working at the beginning of his shift, something the FT guys did not appreciate.

Sometimes stuff gets on the wrong truck, by accident, and goes to who knows where for a while. It eventually gets to where it is supposed to. There is no 3 day guarantee for guns, but with Priority mail it shouldn't take more than 3 - 4 days, even cross country.
