A year ago, I wasn't bothered at all driving 150-200 miles per day for work but Wednesday and Thursday made it apparent I've lost that calloused butt. Wednesday was close to 150 miles and 6 hours spent trying to get an Amish sawmill to cut some specific sized lumber for a bridge repair project and locating another Amish who has oil field pipe and rod for our new corral project. Discovered the shop where I'd left my hydraulic post auger 3 weeks ago had not even touched it. Couldn't bring it home since SHE didn't want any chance of getting oil/grease in HER pickup. Stopped at an equipment dealer I know fairly well to get his recommendation for a different hydraulic repair shop.
Thursday back to same area for appointment with Grouch Attack's eye surgeon and another run into Menards for bits and pieces of a different project. Ended up buying a new freezer:eek: which was not exactly in our immediate plans but that's another story. Loaded the post auger in MY pickup.
Now we're 45 miles east of home and the recommended hydraulic shop is almost 50 miles west of home. Due to road construction and repair that took 2 1/2 hours and we're still an hour from home. I was about pooped out after a solid 8 hours on the road.
On the flip side, the progress made was satisfying---expensive but at least significant progress.

Yeah, I remember that thing called "traffic" from places I used to live. When I was a lot younger, I spent 3 hours a day commuting; if the weather was bad, it was quite a bit more than that (I remember one time in the rain, it took me 3 hours to drive 33 miles home). Anyone who has to deal with traffic has my sympathy!
