I know many here who scorn TV and those who watch it. But my TV is often a satisfying companion to me on lonely nights without my Nita. And my DVD player lets me visit her through many photos made during our time together. But my source of amusement today is the commercials.

Now advertsers buy time with the idea their spiel is directed to a specific audience. For instance, during ball games, the commercials are about beer and macho pickup trucks. During sentimental programs, the commercials are around life insurance and funeral services. TV evangelists have commercials about holy water and healing towels.

Now, having laid the groundwork, I happened to click on a cartoon channel early this morning. The commercials? Rubs for arthritic joints and pain relieving creams! Reckon who they think are watching cartoons?

My complaint with commercials is the constant flood of aberrant behavior contained in those commercials.
I don't 'fit the demographic' of 99% of the target audience for ANY of those commercials. We just got a 'ROKU' box and it cuts the ads down by about 75-90% but the most aggravating ones remain.

Finally there is a commercial I like. That's the one with Christie Noem hawking her state, South Dakota. Kind of clever.

On the one with her being a plumber, notice the tools laid out by her legs, a framing hammer and a speed square. Yeah, someone kind of blew it there, not exactly plumbing tools. ;)

If you watch vintage cartoons, the commercials are for vintage viewers...but watch a modern cartoon and may lose your mind how over the top new kid-focused commercials are.

My pet peeve is forcing agendas on me to sell something (as mentioned above) unrelated.

AM-PM commercials..."Gooder"?????????
I thought Congress made a law against the sound level rising for commercials some time ago?
Who/Whatever types up anything printed on your screen is so bad, not only do they not know how to spell, they obviously don't know how to use or proof read the Spell Checker that should be in their software.
