I got an error 42002 cant connect to turbosupport site for updates when attempting to get updates off the net.
I did what it asked to do....shut off firewalls and ensure my computer allows for downloads.
right.
how in blazes do ya do that!
I go to security on my win7, it has a button to click saying add sites to allow, but it doesn't allow you to type in turbotax.what ever.

please...would someone go on google and see if there is a work around for error 42002 loading on a win7? I cant get on google!
seems rugerforum is the only site that loads fast on my computer!

Here is what I got by googling win 7 error 42002. Hope it works for you.

I was having the same issues as you and I fixed it by opening Internet Explorer and resetting all of the Internet options and deleting personal settings. Malware had hijacked my settings and was blocking the connections. I don't use Explorer, I use Firefox but the TurboTax must use the IE settings. Open IE and click the gear Icon. Go to Advanced Tab, click reset and check Delete personal settings box. Shut down IE and try update. It will say to restart your computer but you don't need to. Just restart TurboTax and run update. Mine worked with Zone Alarm firewall and antivirus running. The Malware was MySearch.Avg.com. I was able to finally download my state files and finish my taxes.

Good luck.

My Dad's taxes got hacked on Turbo Tax and then the IRS sent his refund to the bad guys even after they were warned. Dad said that happened about the same time frame as Lois Learner's crimes and Dad is a conservative donor and life NRA member.
