I need to clarify. My 10 22 got occasional use from 1969 to 2001. Then when we moved to the more rural area where we now live it became a truck gun and while it may not get handled and fired every day it gets a lot more "use" than a safe queen.

It is still a long time for a finish to last on a gun that gets used.
