Trijicon RMR mounted directly on 1911 slide?

I’m sure y’all have seen them or at least pictures of them. These new ultra small red dots which are mounted in place of the rear sight directly on the slide of a semi auto. Some of the new guns are coming like this direct from the factory as well.

I was just curious if anyone has one like this and if so, what’s their opinion? I just ordered one today. The Trijicon RMR, made in USA too! They show them to be pretty durable, like hooking it on a table to rack the slide. But I’m not sure why you would do that, looks tough I suppose.

One reason would be if you are in a gun fight and one arm is rendered useless.

I just hope it holds up to the back and forth beating it’s going to get from the slide movement.

From what I just read, it will. Sure has to be tough to do that. What sized dot did you get?

I got the type 2 adjustable. It was either that or the 6.5 MOA and this is going on a 9mm 1911. I wanted it for accuracy.
