After checking those prices for the Clawson book I went with Hawkeye's idea and ordered the Poyer and
Goddard books; since I'm not in full mode collecting of 1911's, hopefully they'll do the trick for me until I am. The Poyer book was $28 shipped to my house from ABE Books and the Goddard one $55 shipped from Amazon. Yep, ya can't have too many references, I have a complete set of Gun Digests, dating back to '46 and if I dug through them I could probably find a lot of info, but a book on the subject is so much easier and better.
got numerous books on building them up, now I'll have a couple on originals.
