Hi all, I have been looking for a three screw Ruger Blackhawk Bisley in 45 Long Colt and haven't seen any.

Did Ruger ever make this model early on in the three screw time period? Plenty of New models but no old models found.

Thanks,

welcome to the Forum, but sorry ,Ruger NEVER made any "Old models, (3 screws) in the Bisley configuration,,,,it would have to be custom, make a new grip frame to work on the OM...good luck,I know its been done but those folks do NOT "resell" them.....wait ,maybe a picture will come up soon......:rolleyes:;)

As properly noted above,, no factory Ruger Bisley's were ever built. The Bisley g/f came along well after the move to the NM action.

That said,, many an OM, (3-screw) Ruger has had a New Model g/f added to an OM gun, with just a slight modification.
The modification requires a custom piece of metal to be made for the trigger return spring. You make an insert, that allows the use of the OM trigger return spring, and it fits in the slot where the NM trigger return spring is supposed to go.

Or you can get a newly manufactured GF for the old model at RW Grip Frames out of Houston, TX. These are for new models, they make many versions standard and custom for old models and new models. Fantastic work! Lanyard rings are a custom option I had them add

Getting a new model bisley grip frame bolted to an old model 45 is easy. Making the trigger return spring adapter is easy too. What's hard is finding one of David Clements old model bisley hammers. You can see if Power custom has one of their hammers in stock but it needs the trigger plunger rod and spring along with fitting and bluing. Ronnie Wells is getting set up to produce these hammers as well but he does not have them available yet.

Old Model ended in 1973,
Bisley introduced in 1984, on the Vaquero, and as mentioned New Model…

But some of us want a Old Model Bisley in 45 Colt … and Brass at that.
