Is there anything special about this pistol? Short run, special run, oddball configuration? I'm running out of time to get my original 22/45 barrel threaded and looking at options even up to buying a new pistol or a new "upper" for one I already have.

It's a standard cataloged item:

Rugers makes two versions of the 22/45 Mark III that are still being sold, as per their web-site. And they are NOT Lites. Model 10149 & 10150 are both steel uppers and threaded from the factory. Here's the 10149 with suppressor attached. These pistols don't bounce around like the Lite does when shooting.

I've been in contact with ruger-parts.net and now need to stop in at my local FFL and get his OK to get one of the take-off "uppers" shipped. Cost will be about the same as having my barrel threaded even with the FFL fee.

I guess my dilemma is solved. Traded a fixed sight 6 7/8" Mk3 and Bianchi holster for a 10150. Cost the same as buying a "take-off upper" and paying the shipping and FFL transfer cost. Hadn't shot the Mk3 for a couple of years so not really going to miss it plus I don't have to tinker with re-assembling.

Gun shop guy called this morning. The 22/45 is here. I may be able to find time to go in tomorrow and pick it up. Got some work in that area anyway so 3 birds with one stone (trip).
