Thoughts on Redhawk 8 Shot

I think they don't and won't exist. Newer .357 Redhawks are 8 shot; GP cylinder size was causing issues with 7 shots of .357, let alone 8.

Don't see them altering the .327 or .22 designs to have 8 either.

Actually, there should be all kinds of room for eight .22RF's in a GP-100 cylinder.

And probably just barely enough for eight .327 FEDERAL MAGNUMS, depending on tolerancing requirements.

Don't know if the demand would justify it, though.

As far as I know, only the Blackhawks are 8-shot; seen several articles from that era that mention a 7-shot GP.

Current listings show 8-round models of .357 Redhawk and 10-round versions of .22 GP-100 . . . no 8-round Blackhawks.

The blackhawks were 2011 or 2012 of I recall . Not made except those 2 years

I have an 8 shot 357 mag Redhawk that I really enjoy shooting. It's very accurate and a smooth shooter after I tuned up the trigger assembly a little.

HKS has 7 shot ones for the 686, doesn't look like they have 8 shot for the Redhawk. 5 Star has 8 shot for the Redhawk, but they're quite expensive (all metal CNC product).

thanks, had I known this at the time I saw one of each under glass I would have bought the 7 shot and a couple of speed loaders...the 6 shot is fine...
