After reading this thread I have come to the conclusion that carrying anything less than a shotgun loaded with slugs will be useless in a SD situation and that most people who get shot with a .22 do not even notice they've been shot, the ones who take a .22 to the throat just swallow or spit out the bullet and go about their day.
