Here's a no-brainer... And, it destroyed a fine company.

Well I own 2 Ruger LCRs. I absolutely think that they are a great lightweight pocket revolver. But they are definitely not the prettiest revolvers.

My brother has one of those with its holster that our Dad picked up after the Battle of Attu in the Summer of 1943.
Apparently it didn't save its previous owner….
(Dad took this photo after the last Banzai charge)

I flew to attu one year, amazing what still there rusting away, old bunkers, machine guns in the salt water. it was eye opening. and to think it was all for a deception of another attack.

Yep, and hundreds of Americans and some Canadians died there, not to mention 2,000+ Japanese troops.
Plus my Dad lived in a tent for a total of 7 months in the Aleutians during that 1943 campaign.
He was somewhat acclimated to Alaska, having been stationed at Fort Richardson since 1940.

In 1970 I dodged a bullet when presented with PCS move alternatives after completing my 42-week seismic analyst technical training (USAF). My unit gave me two PCS choices - each one deemed "remote-isolated": Attu or Mindanao, PI. I spoke with an E5 who had been at Attu - he said, "Well, it would be you and 5 of your closest friends. Iced in for 7 months a year with only a Coast Guard icebreaker to create a shipping lane for delivery of mail, food and supplies. By the time you left, you'd be best friends with your dirty socks." So, I opted for the 12-month gig on Mindanao, which put me in a detachment with 20 other guys, situated in the jungle 100 miles from the nearest town, and with a nearby plowed field as the landing strip for C-47 resupply. I picked Mindanao. That and my 12-month tour near Chiang Mai, Thailand were the two best places to serve. No nearby military bases which meant no military chicken spit.

I have to admit that I would often post one of my biggest gripes about Glocks were they were just dern ugly... shaped like a shoe box...

but you know they don't look half as bad once you own... one..... or ....... two .... or even three.

But a handgun is supposed to be like a woman... have curves, feel good in your hands and be a pleasure to look at.
