And she is still on the job. It has developed a leak in the bowl so I tried a little Super Glue, so far so good. BTW the motor has never failed.

Funny; I have a big Dillon, and the wee 1292.

I've had mine a long time, and use it all the time for my personal cases.
Think I had it relaced for the motor a long time ago, when it was still warrantied (maybe it was during the 'link' recall?).

Love yer pictures.

It's hard to believe how much the 1292 has run. Literally thousands of pounds of brass has passed through it. Both these tumblers have run pretty much 12-14 hours on Wednesday & Thursday. It's now Friday, 9:30 AM & both have been running over an hour. The Lyman full of 40 S&W & the 1292 full of 45 ACP. Both these are paid for many times over.

Were you in the storm yesterday?

Hi Lynn, got one of those 1292's myself. Bought it back in the 80's and it still runs for hours with brass like it has since I bought it. Never had a problem in the many thousands upon thousands of cases it has processed.

These 3 have many hrs. each . My reloading area was in my Grand Parents old house & I`ve forgotten they were on more times than I would care to say !

I put mine on the concrete floor because of the same thing while living in Dry Creek.

I have one of the large Midway Tumbler twice the size the 1292 get it back in the 80`s they dont make it any more. cleaned Thousands and Thousands of rds in it. still going strong. Got my money`s worth out of it. I use to sell Brass on Ebay Back when they allowed it..

My 1292 is hanging in there. The electrical cord broke off and I soldered it back on but beyond that it is just chugging away. Great unit. Too bad Midway does not deal at that quality level today.

OH NO!!!! That Midway tumbler was recalled back in '98. :D :D :D :D :D

CPSC, Midway Arms Announce Recall of Tumblers

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Midway Arms Inc. of Columbia, Mo., is recalling tens of thousands of tumblers, used to clean gun cartridge casings for reloading. The tumbler's motor can overheat, presenting a fire hazard.

Midway Arms has received 13 reports of motors overheating and catching fire. Five of these fires caused minor and major property damage beyond the tumbler. No injuries have been reported.

Only tumblers sold under the Midway and Past brand names are involved in this recall. The Midway brand tumblers have a blue top and gray base with the words, "Midway...Model 1292...Tumbler" on a sticker on the base. The Past brand tumblers have a tan top and brown base with the word, "Past" on a sticker on the base.

Midway catalogs and independent arms distributors and dealers nationwide sold the tumblers from February 1992 through January 1997 for about $45.

Consumers should stop using these tumblers immediately and call Midway Arms at (800) 243-2506 between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. CST Monday through Friday to make arrangements for returning the tumbler for free repair.

Mine wasn't a part of the recall. They were identified by something under the tumbler, perhaps a cover or something.

I had a Frankford Arsenal tumbler that almost caught fire. The motor froze up because the bearings went bad but the thermo limit would cut the current off. Almost any electric motor can do that.
