The Muscle Car Joy thread showed how many members have (or had) Pontiac Firebirds. So as not to overrun his thread- I thought I's start an all-Firebird thread. Post your pics and stories here. It'll take me a while- I have had dozens of them. All have had Pontiac engines (no 350 Chevy or LS transplants here).
My first was the Mayan red w/ black interior 1979 400 4-speed in the center of pic 1. My second was the all-original 1978 Solar Gold 400 auto. ( right in pic). Then I bought the blue 1980 301 auto for my daughter's first car.
Next I built this 1973 into a 468 4-speed. Blue with a Formula hood, and T/A wheel and front/rear spoilers. Western wheels. True positrac (welded spider gear). This one was the fastest one I ever did. That pic is from a calendar shoot it was featured in.
Next was 1 of 2 that I owned. They were 1 of 2000 1981 NASCAR Daytona 500 pace cars built. 4.9 turbocharged V-8 engines in them. The pic with the blacksmith shop is another calendar picture that it was in.
Silver 1981 T/A that I sold 10 or so years ago with 12xxx miles.
Yellow 1969 that needed a lot of love. It was full of bondo. I kept the door skins and roof skin. I replaced the hood, trunk deck lid, full rear quarters, both fenders, tail panel, every wire front to back, interior, gauges, and built a Pontiac 400 with F.A.S.T. fuel injection. And painted it Kona Blue.
The Sport Gold Metallic '98 WS6 is a 1 of 34 car, and now resides in Virginia with a good friend. It was a GM test car, and was owned/driven by GM execs and engineers for two years. It was first titled in 2000 when GM sold it to an employee, whom I finally bought it from. I sold it with 64xxx miles in 2014. It had options installed that were unavailable in 1998 (as it was a test car for their new design). Pic taken in Smokey Mtn. National Park on one of its trips there.
Then I bought another Mayan '79 400 4-speed. It had camel tan cloth interior.
And a 1 of 1107 built 1979 Special Edition (Bandit) 400 4-speed Trans Am.
