Robbie Robertson was my fave. Love his Native American Music!

I saw them at a Bill Graham Day on the Green show at Oakland stadium back mid 70's
Epic performance, Levon sang Ophelia incredible
86,000 fans singing Night They Drove Old Dixie Down was amazing

If you wanna go down another musical rabbit hole …. Totally different genre but search for Joe Pass ( guitar ) and Oscar Peterson ( piano ).

I just caught most of the movie "Shooter", which was based on Stephen Hunter's book "Point of Impact". I never thought this movie was a good adaptation, so hadn't seen it in quite a while. At one point, Bob Swagger and Nick Memphis talk to a gun expert in TN.

Hey... That voice is familiar.

Sure enough, it was Levon Helms.
I didn't remember that scene at all, but it elevated my opinion of the movie!

This statement about going down a rabbit hole really resonates with me. In my 70 some years of life I have always loved music. My son in law is the one that got me into buying cds and venturing into different genre's and you never know where it will take you. Here lately I have been into a pair of singers, Theuns Jordaan and Junita Du Plessis. They performed alot in South Africa and he died at the age of 51 from leukemia I think. There is just something about their voices and concerts that really drug me in, even though sometimes they are singing in another language that I don't even understand
