.41 mag is my favorite handgun cartridge. I own 2 BH's, a Dan Wesson w/ 3 barrels, S@W 657, 57, and 57 Mountian Gun. All of these revolvers are extremely accurate. I think that the throats and bores are the same spec for every manufacturer.

I cast a lot of bullets and handload for these revolvers. The 41 mag actually got me into casting bullets because of the limited availability of bullets. I like the flatter trajectory and less recoil of the round. Now I just need to find a reasonably priced S&W 58.

Are you looking to purchase a NM Blackhawk in the cal 41? If so I might be willing to part with that model in 4 5/8 " The gun has less than 20 rounds fired and I am now shooting a Super Blackhawk Hunter in that cal so I do not need aboth.

I was going to give you a hard time about those groups till I saw that they are 50 yard groups NOT 25. Not bad at all. Not bad at all.

I find that the .41 is easier to load and quickly find a great grouping combination than any other big caliber.....45 LC, .44 Special or Magnum, .357....the .41 is easier. I've own three, two Rugers and a Smith...all were superb. Hi speed or 1000 fps paper punchers...it's an easy caliber to come up with a winning combination. Rodfac

I've always liked 41. No real advantage over the 44, except S&W 57s seemed to hold-up a little better than 29s back in the day (at least that's what a lot of folks claimed).

In a Ruger, it's a fine round. Pretty versatile too considering you can load slugs ranging from 170 to 295 grains.

My "everything" revolver is a custom 5-shot 41 (it's chambered for the 1.40" version made off of 414 SuperMag).

I've tried lots of different combinations, but always come back to the 230 grain Keith bullet.
