I am looking for information regarding loosening of the takedown screw on a 10-22. I have a carbine model (16 1/4" barrel). It shoots well, and I am generally pleased. However, I have noticed after firing for a while, the takedown screw loosens to the point where one can move the barrwled action around in the stock. If you tighten it up, it will reloosen after 50-100 rounds. I have had other 10-22s in the past, but have never had this problem. Does anyone have an explanation for this? Is the takedown screw 'bottoming out' on the receiver? Has the screw bushing moved up into the stock? Other possibilities?
