They are easy to find and here is one for $595 with the 9.5 barel:

You could have got this one for $550 if you had caught it a couple seconds earlier:

I have seen a few of these sell for as low as $500 and I have seen packages with lots of ammo, scope, holster, dies, etc sell for what I assume must have been the cost of all the extras and you could get the gun for free.

Lots of people bought these but factory ammo is tough to find and non-reloaders want to sell them. That combined with the time of the year and holiday bills have really made these an an afordable revolver and I have considered buying a few of the deals that have been on the web.

Good luck but if you watch for a deal you can save a couple hundred bucks off a new one

Quarterbore -

Thank you for the quick and detailed response - I had one offered to me for $595 that is new in the box and was considering it. Being more of a single action fan, the Super Redhawk doesn't particularly excite me but the caliber does. Do you think that Ruger will ever offer the 480 in the SA style?

That is the million dollar question and from this thread:

http://www.rugerforum.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=73417

My honest guess is no unless Ruger makes a new Maximum sized Blackhawk and build it in say 454 and 480. I think it would be a logical addition but I am not working at Ruger where I can beat up on the product development guys!

I have not bought a 480 as I have a huge collection of 45 Colts so my 454 Casull Super Redhawk can share the same bullets including anything I cast where if I moved up to the 480 I would need all new gear and creates a possibility of a screwup on my part. The 480 could still be a great cartridge but Ruger needs to do more for the round or it is going to headed to obscurity in my oppinion like other great rounds before it.

JMHO and if you reload, the 480 has awsome potential...

There are plenty of other threads on the revolver as well as the round if you do some searches...
