Some song lyrics just take be back to long ago.
Here's one that does it for me.
"Barefoot girl sitting on the hood of a Dodge
Drinking warm beer in the soft summer rain"
From Bruce Springsteen's Jungleland. Actually Bruce has a number that qualify.

Reelin' in the Years by Steely Dan,

"Your everlasting summer and you can see it fading fast, so you grab a piece of something that you think is gonna last"

Takes me back to a couple of summers in the mid '70s.

I also like this one. No matter what you think of the artist, he's one of the good guys. A modern summertime song:

I love the sweltering southern summertime...

Stone cold! Almost semiretired.

When Johnny Winters came out and jammed with her it was great. Remember when Spirit started up?

I remember Janis, lots of mud, the Vanilla Fudge 'You Keep Me Hanging On' and a real cute girl with long red hair.

Dang!!!! A lot of y'all are a lot younger........or maybe way way older than me. Most of those songs I don't remember. Maybe Iwas doing something else.
I remember watching Elvis on the Ed Sullivan show in his first television appearance.

I play music in my office at work. I had Iron Butterfly doing "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" playing in the background. One of my younger workers was in my office and said "Those guys are great! When are they going on tour?" "Oh, about 45 years ago!" You should have seen the look on his face.

Like Jethro Tull (Ian Anderson) sang, "Too Old to Rock-N-Roll; Too Young to Die."
