A google search produces many companies but I want to pick the brains of forum members. Good companies bad ones?
Looking to plate some small parts.
Thanks to everyone.
Happy Saturday :)

There is more than one type if nickel plating, electroless, electrolytic, bright, and sulfamate, also black nickel. Electroless is likely the most used on firearms but is more matte. Are you wanting to re-nickel or plate a previously un-plated item. There is some build up with plating and some have more buildup than others so you need to watch your tolerances. Find a reputable plater and discuss it with them.

IMHO..
AIH Chrome in Dubuque IA.
Been in business forever. I know a guy that helped set up the plating proces way back when they started, very smart gentleman.
They do award winning plating work. If you only have some gun parts, the shipping across country won't kill you. They get very large auto parts shipped in from all over, they are well known in the classic car community.
I had some small parts nickel plated for a nickel 1911 I have, turned out beautiful.
I've seen a lot of their work and wouldn't go anywhere else.
Not saying there are others that do just as nice but around here they are ones to go to.

Been many years since I used these guys, but they did good work then:

Personally I would never use Ford's. I have seen at least a couple nice guns severely diminished in value from their terrible polishing process. Rounded edges that were previously sharp, dished out screw holes and more. In my opinion they are hacks at best.

Don't know if they do classic nickel, but I've been planning to send some parts to these folks for plating:

FWIW, etc., etc.
:)

I had CCR do an upper on my Sig M25 and they got pretty darn close to matching the lower... I was converting it from 9mm to 357 Sig.
