Stolen Ruger NOW RECOVERED PHOTOS ATTACHED

Help Support Ruger Forum:

I hope that in the end, the rifle turns out better than you had hoped, having gone thru this entire ordeal. Please update when it finally arrives. May want to grab a lottery ticket too! Wishing you an early congrats. Bill in MA

I recently had a similar mailing experience with a new PCP air rifle. It was new and the seller was in LA, CA. I paid for UPS shipping, but they mailed it USPS. It was scanned in LA and then disappeared for about 14 days. Magically, it was scanned in MO 10 days later. The next scanned took long enough to make me think they were slow walking an empty box, but it did arrive in perfect condition in a perfect looking box enclosing the box identifying it as a PCP air rifle.
More than a month in transit. Only scanned once in CA, once in Springfield, MO, and once in the infamous Kansas City, MO before being announced as "out for delivery."
The long delays and the few scans just isn't a normal mailing experience. So this brings me to ask a question about this mail tracking experience. Does the USPS now have special handling for obvious rifles to stop or at least greatly reduce theft?

not surprised at the ineptitude of the postal service, I sell on ebay and on the 4th of January (12 days ago) I had a package returned to me that I mailed on May 1st, 2023. 18 months after being mailed......where the hell was it for the last 18 months???? THE USPO needs to be on DOGE's hit list.....fire them all and have them reapply for their jobs with a required aptitude test

"..fire them all and have them reapply for their jobs with a required aptitude test"
That's where the problem begins. No real 'apptitude test' involved. When I took the Civil Service exam and was later called in for an interview, any score below 95% wasn't even considered. I was pretty sharp back then but scoring 95% was a challenge. Lots of people taking the test didn't even come close to finishing and scored ZERO. The requirements were high for a reason and 'walk in' applicants don't meet those requirements often.
I could write a book based on the stories from the 'old timers' about the effects of 'minority hiring policies' on the efficiency of postal facilities so don't get me started on that. :devilish: :poop:

Look up clive cussler's story about losing his famous Doxa

I had a package disappear for a month about 17 years ago. The shipper had put about 20 stamps on the box. I'm guessing nobody wanted to count all the postage, so they threw it in a corner. After 30 some days, it finally made the long 130 mile trip from central Iowa to southern Minnesota.
Moral of the story is to use shipping labels and not stamps. Keep those for letters.

I'm so glad to hear you have been reunited with your rifle. The pictures are beautiful. I hope you can enjoy it for many, many years.

It was with great pleasure I changed my sad face for the smile face with heart eyes. On your original post.

Really really happy for you. It is a beautiful rifle.
