I haven't ever been banned or suspended from a forum. I never even got put in F-book jail even though I posted a lot of things I knew were true but the fact checkers wanted squelched (they did basically tell me they were changing my algorithm decreasing who could see my posts). It would probably bother me but I'd have to let it go.

Facebook put me in time out from Jan 6 to Jan 20, 2020 with no explanation. I wonder what was going on during that period.
After a bit of investigation, I think they put everyone in a certain gun group in time-out and then banned that particular page. I have talked to 10-20 people who said the same thing happened to them.

They have made me angry many times with their disinformation & lies.

That’s the risk involved in using VPN.

One of my sons convinced me to sign up for Nord VPN. I had to pay for two years coverage in advance and foolishly did so. I found that I was being constantly stopped from getting to various websites as well as all sorts of other problems. All of a sudden i was having trouble with my Iphone as well. After exhausting all efforts to fix the problems I went to Apple for help. The tech turned off the VPN and everything returned to normal function, and the problems on my laptop also disappeared. I have yet to turn it back on.

I was banned on this forum for years for having an email address on Yahoo. Oh well, while I really enjoyed all the revolver talk on this forum. I found out others exist. Moderators told me I had to have a "premium" email address, never got one.

im surprised all of us (except me because i tastefully disguised the website in question) are not being banned as we speak. the head honcho here told us not to bad mouth other sites openly.
well, for those who have never been banned....theres always a first time!
maybe some should do a edit real quick like! :>

Whew... sounds like I was close because I almost posted the name of the web site ... that I was talking about.... I snuck back briefly on Sunday and it looks like the moderator and owner removed the post where he cussed me out three different times.... I made the initial post to make sure I was right about something... that 9mm magazines for a Sig P225 would work in. a Sig P239 if the foot is changed out... and I was right and several people were thankful for the post before the stuff started hitting the fan.

As I was clicking my computer this morning to come to this web sight I realized that when I came here I was not going to have to read post where members can't help but put the 'F' word in their post as well as other four letter words. Now, as I've said, don't get me wrong... I can cuss and do cuss often, I just don't think it should be done in public. It's just how I was raised. And even though I'm not good at it, there are better ways to insult someone than just throwing foul language out... look back and read my comment in my original post about the other moderator and the mysterious swamp critter. I actually stole that from a news letter years ago written by the owner of Thompson Cigars.

Cussing when you talk is a bad habit. Some people can’t stop themselves from swearing. Its a bad habit and a tough one to break. It just slips out in the heat of the moment.

Swearing in print, is an entirely different thing. Its done on purpose, and it’s ignorant.

I think I scared the Mods on MDShooters when I actually hosted an AK build party in August 2013. People had been talking about it for years and with the ban coming up I decided to host it. A few weeks later I got an infraction for a Racist Post where I didn't even mention race and half of the posts referenced the primate house. A month or so later I was permabanned for posting that It's never too late for a Hunting Accident. Which they claimed was a call for assassination of public officials acting recklessly. At that point I was advocating for long gun open carry gatherings after our AG made the argument to the 4th Circuit that Marylanders don't need handgun permits because long gun carry was perfectly legal.
That seems to be a 'different style' of people then we have here. I go there mainly for the local gun show news and the 2nd Amendment information.

The few times resold rifle manufacturer often mentioned here because of current ownership has a site named after it hat has put me in time out three times, two of which were because of context and syntax the moderators there could not comprehend. I didn't even say what they claimed I said. Last time was a six month ban for asking why a member was freaking out so much in the help area over a very minor site "feature" not working the way he wanted (he was making a big deal over nothing). That expired in August. Guess that means I haven't logged in there in over a year. Oh well. I have more fish than Rugers. People with below average intelligence are generally offended easily by certain types of creative writing.

I'm on one other gun forum which is in title supposed to be about my favorite handgun... but of course has other discussion and different sections.... I've been on the owner/head hall monitors watch list for a couple of years and to be honest have never figure out why. I often compliment both him and the forum for the information I have gotten off of it.

A guy (very new member) recently posted in the classifieds that he wanted to trade two 357 sig magazines for two 9mm ones for the same model pistol and he also put not only his email address in his add but his shipping / home address and phone number ... I quickly pointed out that he should take those out, his email should be in his profile only (which is only visible to members), and that I could probably do the trade with him and my email was in my profile. he responded thanks and that he did not know how to put his email in his profile... there was a snide post by the moderator about the new member's intelligence and the new member took offense and posted something back and then they both got to insulting each other and I made the mistake of posting that I thought they were both over reacting .... BOY! Who would have thought it... I could have posted that I wondered what mysterious creature came out of the swamp and crawled up the owner's mother's leg and conceived him and it would have gone over better.

I got spanked and apologized and still got spanked and apologized again... but never said I was wrong about my 'over reacting' comment which of course was just my opinion and who really cares what my opinion is... I've finally decided to put myself on double secret probation and not go back on that forum for a while ... which I suspect is getting me in more trouble. The owner it seems is pretty narcasitic. (way more than me) and really gets miffed if you don't reply to a post he directs at you... I was almost thrown off when I first joined for this because I did not immediately reply to one of these ... for the simple reason I did not log back on for a day... I suspect I'm still getting spanked over there.... I may go visit in a day or so via another computer and see how my spanking is going....

For some reason these things don't happen to me here...
Some moderators are like other little people with a little power over others. It goes straight to their head and they become nasty, petty little dictators. This guy in particular sounds like a very insecure little power-mad jerk.

I used to (key phrase) belong to a lot of forums - I mean, A LOT! These days, I participate in 3-4 regularly, still have semi-active memberships in a couple of others, and let all the rest go away. Too many board Nazis out there; .net, a couple of .orgs, and a bunch of .coms. Hope they all enjoy the rest of their lives. Without me. Life is too short.

Moderating a social media board has got to be a tough job... it is often hard to actually understand what someone is saying... I know overtime I replied to the guy running the other forum and appolgized and even complimented him and he would turn it 180 degrees.... as I said, it all started when I posted that I thought both him and a new member were over reacting... the one thing I would not do is back down from my comment... which was just my opinion and who out there really cares? I see what I call. "the hall monitor syndrome" often....

Many years ago, prior to finding and joining this forum I was on another particular type of handgun forum. I was relatively new and posted a question in the "wrong place" and got 'suspended' for a time. I never went back! Each year, however, I receive a Happy Birthday email from them
I think that I requested to be permanently banned from that same forum after similar transgressions. I still get birthday wishes from them, too!

I don't think it is a prerequisite but it will get you 'street creed' for sure....

I've never been booted off of one... but I've been on double secret probation on several over the years.... the one I'm talking about I've decided to put myself on probation and give it a rest for a couple of weeks.

side joke that is true and I hope I don't get in trouble for this one here.

I'm a chimney sweep and was on a forum with fellow sweeps and one sweep asked advice after he went to a lady's house and said her chimney needed repairs and she offered to pay for it "in trade"... if you get my drift. He got put on serious probation but then I had to admit on the forum that I was dong a repair (relining) on a young woman's chimney where normally when you put the two sections of stainless steel liner together it should be male end down into the female part...(that's how stove pipe should go together to keep any condensation in) and I thought it would be better to connect the liner female to female because she was obviously a lesbian......
