I picked this up at an auction several years ago. I'm considering moving it along to someone new. I bought it as unfired and it don't appear to be but I'm not the original owner so I can't confirm that. Any idea on value?

That one should be a Type 7 Red Eagle. The RENE Guide says that it's be about $435 for just the gun. Adding for the box, papers, extra magazine etc,, I'd put the package around $550-$575 range.

Looks like a blue bolt though, which says it is either a Type 8, or the gun has been reblued.
Type 7's had the rear half of the bolt in the white.

Shouldn't that box be a one piece box instead of a 2 piece box. The one piece box will look just like the 2 piece box only the top will be hinged making it a one piece box. Also, it looks as if the paperwork is a later version as it is "revised October 10, 1952. A year or two after this gun was manufactured.

Good catch. Manual dated 3/56.
