I'm a noob, but I figured I'd give this a shot...

Anybody have any suggestions or methods for (safely) working the slide on the SR9 with one hand? Like pushing down against a hard surface with the front sight? I don't plan to use the method, but this is a "just in case" scenario...

Thanks in advance for any insight you may have on this matter.

Now a serious reply. One of the oldest methods was to hook the rear sight on your belt and push down. Not the best idea as it puts the muzzle pretty close to the leg. But if you are for some reason one handed, it does work. Like anything, practice with an unloaed handgun. You might also consider carrying a backup piece. Revolvers are somewhat more onehanded friendly.

i would suggest a method similar to the one handed reload... place the gun between your knees with the barrel down and facing backwards... then reach down and rack the slide...

Just man up - hold it in one hand and rack it with your teeth(FYI, I only recommend this to members of this forum living outside the South :p ).
