Has anyone noticed that some of the new serial numbers for the SR9 have a prefix of 331 as opposed to the normal 330 prefix? Is there any significance to this new prefix?

I believe the 330 Prefix are the guns that were made before Ruger made the "Glock" Trigger change in the production guns. Any 330 gun was recalled to be retrofitted with the newer trigger assembly. 331 guns will be 'Post Recall' manufacture and 'new stock'.

If you find a 330 gun at a LGS it should look and shoot like any 331 gun as stores were asked to send in any stock before selling it for it's retrofit.

Correct me if I'm wrong anyone, hope this helps :) Welcome to RF.com BTW.

Thanks for everyone's comments. Here is something I just came across on the Ruger website. It appears that Ruger kept the 330 prefix at least thru the beginning of 2009. There is no mention of what the prefix is for the beginning of 2010. I found this info under the customer service tab and then under the product history tab.

SR9 Pistol
Caliber: 9mm

Beginning Serial Number: Years of Production:
330-00000 2007
330-12387 2008
330-46283 2009
