So, two questions as a side note:

On a standard AR15 you have to remove some part... besides the obvious bolt, to put in a 22lr conversion kit?

How accurate is the rifle shooting 22lr after the conversion?

What is the best conversion kit for the money?

Okay, I know that's 3 questions.

As far as best conversion for the money.. This is only from what I read.. Spikes Tactical and the CMMG are apparently the two to consider. And of the two, if I were in the market, Spikes Tactical. I like the idea of adding "o" rings to center the kit in the rifle chamber.

My dedicated upper is very accurate but the CMMG bolt conversion has good accuracy at both 25 and 50 yds. This is not to say it is "target grade" but it will do "minute of can" all day long and I would not describe it as inaccurate in any way.
Tests by an aficionado on AR15.com found HV CCI HPs to be very good in the bolt conversions. YMMV

'Minute of Can' is good shooting for me....even at 50 yards I was just considering getting one of these for the Appleseed project. I probably will just go with my original plan of my tached out 10/22 on the first day and possibly my M4/AR15 on the 2nd day.
