Can't see how an employee would be able to help much really. They ship off to distributors and then to dealers. They're in demand so its sort of luck in finding one. Have your dealer start calling his distributors or of it's that important to have one right now...GunBroker.

Can't believe a smart employee woud actually revel themselves here and then become bombarded with questions, comments and suggestions both logical and ludacris.

One of my local guys has two (2) in stock, $1699.00 each. PM me or e-mail me and I'll give you the contact info. Personally I won't pay that much. He may come down a little, I haven't asked as I've got $$ tied up into some other deals. Coogs.

I'd bet if management found out employees were using their employee discount just to turn around a sell them off cheap, they would not be getting a discount for long.

". . . or a paycheck. "

I agree! I'd think there'd be some legal issue too perhaps. Regardless, if all you're willing to pay for the gun is $900 when street price is $1400 -/+ then I guess it doesn't mean that much to get one.

ok let me understand this, I read on other sites how guys are getting this gun for under a grand, and I ask on this site for some help in someone helping me get one makes me the bad guy? Really!!!! Youv'e never got a deal on anything before? Also there are used guns out there for sale from Ruger, others are getting these so why can't I???? I never said I wasn't willing to pay street price for this gun. I have one already- paid $1550, I want another and would like help in getting a deal.

If you watch the classifieds from time to time a forum member
has had them for $1395.00 IIRC, and they are NIB. So you just have to look. Good luck in your search.

There's way to get a deal and ways not to go about getting one. Expecting an employee to pass along their pricing level is, IMO, and obviously others opinion, asking a bit more than one should expect.
Taking a guess here but many folks that get deals get them from being a loyal repeating customer to a particular dealer. Those that jump from dealer to dealer trying to save a few dollars show their disloyalty. (ie...loyalty pays of - better deals ;) )

Theres nothing wrong with your post!! People sell things all the time and your purchase would be a legal one too.

There are lots of people who get discounts and find out they don't like what they bought and sell it too.

Now if that Ruger employee was doing this to make an income and buying one every two weeks im sure they are not stupid and would be asking why not savings bonds LOL

But I would look for the same deal too. lots of people need cash these days and someone might have bought one only to have to sell it, not want to sell it.

But this is an open forum and you will get all sorts of opinions, just have to learn to ignore some of the ones you don't like

There is NOTHING wrong with getting a deal and IF a Ruger employee can help you get it great. That being said, I work for Ford and as you all know we get very good deals on new cars. We are allowed two purchases a year under my plan for ourselves or family members. If I ever made a purchase to resell and make money I guarantee I would be fired so fast I wouldn't have time to clean out my stuff!

I'm sorry, but this sounds fishy to me. I'm sure that others feel the same way and just haven't commented. It's almost as if though some people feel "entitled" to pay less than the others who pay fair prices. Don't get me wrong. I like a sweet deal just as much as the next guy. However, the "something-for-nothing" attitude is not received well in the gun community. Example: a standard Ruger 10-22's cost about $225. If you can find one at $200 then you did well. Who would expect to contact an employee just to try to get one for $150? I would be embarassed to even ask.

Pay your dues.....if two SR-556's costs about 3 stacks.....then that's about what most people will have to pay (plus or minus a bit). I buy toilet paper all the time. But I don't expect to pay half price for more TP just because I have done my fair share of wiping. Take note.
