My favorite .44 mag load used this powder under a 225 gr bullet at around 1350 fps. Was very accurate and pleasant to shoot. Is anyone using 4759 in their .45 Colt loads? Flatgate?.......

Not in IL anymore ... :)
I was going to try it in my .45 Colt, but my local gun shop was out of that powder. Said he was having great difficulty getting it.
The idea was to duplicate the old black powder velocity loads with the same or gentler pressure curve.

I'll get around to it some day.

I've tried it and it was wonderful i really like it the only down side was a lot of unburned powder but other than that it was a lot of fun easy recoil and accurate

I've not, as of yet, tried it in the .45. I've been shooting SR4759 in my "mid range" .44's for years!

Firm "bullet pull" and my usual "killer crimp" seems to be the ticket with respect to unburned powder.

The Lee "Factory Crimp Die" works for me.

From my experience that powder likes a "full and sealed" boiler.... :D
