I have had several of these over the years but this is only the second one I've come across that has both the first-printing manila colored manual and the USPS maintenance log sheet. This one is possibly in nicer condition than the one in my collection but I have decided to sell this one because it is a slightly higher serial number.
Limited run stainless .357 Mag Speed Six made for the U.S. Postal Inspection Service in 1987, very near the end of production of the -Six series guns (the GP100 had already been introduced but only with adjustable at first, so the Security Six was discontinued before the fixed sight models). Has the 3" barrel instead of the earlier 2.75" and has a special bead blast or similar finish rather than the standard brushed stainless. Grips are factory Pachmayr finger groove with Ruger medallions. Has original box with correct label - the catalog number for these guns was GS-33-PS where the "PS" stood for Postal Service. As stated above, the first run manila colored manual is very rare, and the maintenance log is equally scarce.
Revolver is very minty but does show signs of light use, such as staining on the face of the cylinder. Judging from the soot lines in the chambers and the minimal wear to the breech face, I would guess that it has only been fed .38 Specials.
SPF $775 shipped to FFL.
I will move this to GunBroker penny auction if not sold by Sunday 10/20.
