Untouched Remington 1871 Rolling Block 50-70 survivor with features and cartouches identifying it as one of the New York State Militia guns. Not marked Springfield. Just out of a local estate. Has the bayonet. Everything that ought'a move does, everything that shouldn't doesn't. Bore looks pretty darn good, I ran a patch through and got the cobwebs out, still pretty shiny and rifling is fairly pronounced. Selling as a wall hanger, you should have it checked out by a competent 'smith before thinking about firing. Nearly six feet long with bayo mounted and weighs about 10 pounds. SPF $950 shipped, no FFL needed in most states (antique), check your local laws.

Cartridges as shown are optional to buyer for SPF additional $125, shipped separately. Box has no lid.

I have a bayonet my uncle gave me in 1969 when I was 9 years old that looks identical to your bayonet but the 3/16 x 1&1/16 horizontal cut on the base of my bayonet is on the right side or the opposite side of your bayonet as pictured. Do you know if they were cut on both sides or possibly what rifle my bayonet was made for? Any help is greatly appreciated. I enjoyed viewing the pictures. They got my mind to thinking where she had been and what she had seen?

Amazing. Really. For this gun to be still around and functioning .... They sure built these guns to last.

No, sorry, I'm not really an old military arms buff. I didn't know much about these guns until I bought this one and researched it online.
