New Pictures! Have an Old Model 1960 BKH-40, flattop .44 mag, SN 24045. Unconverted. Cylinder has drag line. Left side of muzzle blue is worn. Screwdriver scratch on Micro sight (too wide a blade!). Eight notches in left grip panel - story was the owner was an alligator hunter in Florida. Bluing wear on ejector rod housing. Small blemish on left edge of flattop near sight. No box, no papers. $1500 shipped to your FFL from individual. If you need any other pictures or want fullsized originals, let me know. I've never taken it apart, but I have shot a bunch of .44 Specials through it and it is fun to shoot.

Ask any questions - I'm not a collector, more of a "gatherer" so I'm no expert on these. Only know what I've picked up here and from Chad's "Reference of Ruger Firearms" which is great.

First PM with "I'll take it" gets it.

There are the positives and the negatives. Grips are damaged, wear, trigger. You can't allow the good posts and not except the not so good. I would put this at about 85% only by the photos. Don't get me wrong it is a great revolver, fairly rare but far from pristine which is what RENE ranks. PM on the way. Don't get me wrong, you don't see these a lot but when you do they are usually 95%+. Most folks never shot or carried them.

This would not only make for a great addition to a collection, it would also make for a great shooter. Someone needs to jump on this. These 10" 44 FTs make for a great long distance rock-bustin' shooter.

I love my 10" 44 FT shooter. My wife and I both took turns hitting a rock at 580 yards with it last week in New Mexico.

I repeat, someone needs to jump on this.

Hi Tim:
I'd have to agree with Karl that RENE rates on a 95% basis. This is very nice although not a RENE price comparison.
I would take a look at some 95% stuff and figure it from there. I'm sure it served Mr. Alligator hunter's purposes by the notches in the handle! Let me know if still available.
Thanks,
Tom

Friday morning bump

Tom,
Still available. Not a 95% gun, but not priced like one either, check the latest RENE price list. When was the last time you saw one for sale? I'm not twisting anyone's arm to buy it, just offering it up. Thanks for looking!!

If anyone wants more pictures, let me know and I'll try to take some better ones.

COMMENT(s)........Few seem to be offered; At my age and level of self proclaimed maturity, I would not pursue, but then, after all these years, I already have a few; Seems a gun with some good quality at it's level and with some skills (here), it could be gently redeemed a bit.......If one was so inclined, RugerGuy has contacts who could spiff this one up a wee bit..........Someone, go see your banker and buy this offering................After all, it is what it is and some of you need to stop chipping away at it. There, you have it/them..............Asta la vista, sombrero wearers and baseball cap afficianados..........SPLITZZZZZZ

it is what it is and some of those "minor" imperfections can be attended to with ease, it is a very nice gun, wish it was here, it would look 100% better with little or NO effort, ( and NOT refinishing either) a little bit of 'TLC'.......

Mike and Dan and others, It is still here, you keep saying what a great piece it is but none of y'all have made an offer. I have and you keep bolstering. Buy it for pete's sake. I made an offer and was turned down, which is fine. But quit with the it is the greatest freakin pistol in the world for his benefit. It is not, can it be right yep. will it take a couple hundred dollars? Yep. That is what I subtracted. Qwit that, it is is what you are wanting, not. Great is 95%, this gun is not 95% in its current state/appearance. It is 85% at best with the wear and damage to the grips. JMO.

No disrespect to the seller. It is what it is and we have our own opinions. I want it but the seller is stuck so I am out of luck. I ain't going up and he ain't coming down. Quit with the bumps. No one is biting. Well go ahead you might get some one?? Honestly, I am trying to be a pain in your ass. I have many worth much more. I just want to pay what it is worth.

Karl

Karl,
Umm, thanks for the bump. I looked back through my PM's and I didn't find an offer from you for "a couple of hundred" less. Perhaps I missed it.

You did a good job on the gun you pictured. It looks good. Might want to open up your lens a couple of f/stops though.
